Snowfall disrupted transport links in Japan

Snowfalls and winds disrupted air traffic and train traffic in Japan.

So, Japan Airlines canceled 151 flights, and All Nippon Airways — 85 flights. All these flights were to be carried out along the coast of the Sea of Japan.

Snowfall also affected the movement of high-speed trains. So, trains together with passengers were blocked on the lines in Biwako and Kyoto. Trains running between Fukushima and Shinjo on the Yamagata Shinkansen line were also suspended.

Automobile traffic was also disrupted: expressways were blocked in areas from Tohoku to Kyushu.

Neighboring South Korea, meanwhile, is suffering from severe frosts, accompanied by heavy snowfall even in the southern regions of the country, including Jeju Island.
