Smoking cigarettes in all public places has been banned in Mexico
In Mexico, a ban on smoking cigarettes in all public places, including on beaches and in hotels, came into force on January 15.
Violators face a fine of $50 to $300 or arrest for 36 hours.
At the same time, hotels are allowed to allocate outdoor smoking areas, but they must be at least 10 m away from other facilities.
Restaurants and bars that allow smoking in their establishments can be fined up to $46,000.
In addition, since mid—January, a complete ban on tobacco advertising has been introduced in Mexico, the rules regarding electronic cigarettes and vapes have been tightened - they cannot be imported, sold or used in public places.
