Japan to ease covid entry restrictions

Since September, the Japanese authorities will cancel mandatory testing for COVID-19 upon entry into the country, but only for a certain category of entrants.

According to Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, the decision comes into force on September 7. It will concern people who have undergone three vaccinations.

In addition, the Japanese authorities are considering raising the limit on the number of passengers entering the country every day — from 20,000 to 50,000.

At the same time, entry to Japan is still allowed only to citizens of the country, as well as persons with long-term and pre-issued travel visas. In July, foreign tourists were also allowed to visit the country in organized tour groups.

Now, at the entrance to Japan, you need to submit a PCR test done in a maximum of 72 hours.
